Summary:PURPOSE:To minimize a slit at the top dead center of a piston for improving volumetric efficiency by inserting a spacer between a cylinder and a casing or between a bulkhead for closing the top dead center side of the piston of the cylinder and the casing. CONSTITUTION:A ring spacer 105 of desired thickness is inserted between a flange 101 of a cylinder 39 and a stage 103 of a casing 3, while a slit between a pressing plate 35 and a bulkhead 41 at the top dead center of a piston 31 is set to minimum by this spacer 105. An intake plate-like valve body 57 is attached while it is housed in a recess 107 formed on the bulkhead 41. Since the slit between the pressing plate 35 and the bulkhead 41 at the top dead center of the piston 31 can be securely set to a desired small value, volumetric efficiency can be improved.
