Summary:PURPOSE:To automatize measuring by providing a measuring device set on a shield jack, with a segment contactor and a skin plate contactor, and by computing a tail clearance based on the electric signal of the converted displacement quantity of both the contactors. CONSTITUTION:When measuring command is given to the driving section 40 of a measuring device and fluid is fed to a measuring device 10, then a segment contactor 12 is brought in contact with a segment 70, and an oscillating quantity during the time is transmitted to a converter 14 and is detected as pulse signal. After that, a skin plate contactor 13 is brought in contact with a skin plate 71, and a sliding quantity during the time is transmitted to the converter 14 and is detected as the pulse signal. Then, the pulse signal from the converter 14 is counted by a measuring circuit 20, and a tail clearance C after the thickness of the segment 70 is deducted from the pulse signal is displayed as a measured value via a display circuit 30. As a result, the tail clearance C can be exactly measured at high precision.
