Summary: | PURPOSE:To easily obtain parallel relation with a body to be detected by radiating an ultrasonic wave from an ultrasonic wave transmission and reception part, receiving its reflected wave and comparing its received data. CONSTITUTION:When a voltage is applied between electrodes 11a and 11b, a piezoelectric element 10 generates an ultrasonic wave, which passes through an acoustic lens 1 and is reflected partially by the lens surface 1b while the rest is radiated to the body 4 to be detected. The reflected wave from the lens surface 1b and a reflected wave from the body 4 to be detected arrive at the element 10 while having a time difference, so that the element 10 outputs a corresponding electric signal. Exactly the same operation is performed for a piezoelectric element 12 and the time difference between both reflected waves is obtained from the output signal of the element 12. Here, when both the time differences are equal, it is judged that the body 4 to be detected is in the parallel relation and when not, the attitude of the ultrasonic probe and/or the body 4 to be detected is adjusted to set the both parallel to each other and then measuring operation is started. |
