Summary:NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (A is -O- or -NH-; R is alkyl or hydroxyalkyl). USE:An antitumor agent. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II is reacted with 1-7 equivalent 2-hydroxyethylamine in an inert solvent such as benzene in the presence of a catalytic amount of acid such as tosyl acid at a temperature from 0 deg.C to boiling point of the solvent for 30min to 5hr. Furthermore, the compound expressed by formula II which is a starting material is a novel substance and produced from a compound expressed by formula IV according to the reaction formula.
