Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the title rustproofing lubricant excellent not only in lubricity and resistance to discoloration but also in removability by washing by using a neutralized pentaerythritol fatty acid ester and a specified alkali (alkaline earth) metal salt as the constituents. CONSTITUTION:An pentaerythritol fatty acid ester obtained by esterifying a 10-18C higher fatty acid with pentaerythritol and having an acid value of at most 5, an iodine value of at most 20 and a hydroxyl number of at most 50 is neutralized with a secondary amine in an amount equimolar to the free fatty acid contained in the ester compound. 70-97% of the neutralized compound is mixed with 3-30% of at least one of an alkali (alkaline earth) metal salt of oxidized petroleum and an alkali (alkaline earth) metal salt of an aromatic hydrocarbon sulfonic acid to give a rustproofing lubricant which is utilized for press working of a galvanized steel sheet and is excellent not only in lubricity and resistance to discoloration but also in removability by washing (degreasing properties).
