Summary:PURPOSE:To alter a rule only on condition the a control output does not change suddenly by providing a rule alteration inhibition control circuit. CONSTITUTION:Each inference part 11 sets or changes three membership functions of an antecedent part by setting the codes of the membership functions in digital switches 25a-25c. The rule alteration inhibition control 50 supplies a new rule which is set in the digital switches 25a-25c during the execution of fuzzy reasoning to membership function circuits (MFC) 20a-20c on condition that the control output does not vary suddenly, and inhibits the MFCs 20a-20c from altering the rule when the control output varies suddenly. Consequently, rule alteration which possibly causes the control output to vary suddenly is limited, so no adverse influence upon a controlled system is exerted.
