Summary:PURPOSE:To efficiently prevent overheat to end part of steel slab and to manufacture steel plate product having good dimensional accuracy by positioning one end face of the steel slab to the specific distance from furnace wall face at the time of heating by charging the steel slab to right angle to longitudinal direction in a continuous heating furnace. CONSTITUTION:The steel slabs 2 for supplying to hot-rolling are charged at the right angle and parallel in the longitudinal direction in the continuous heating furnace 1, progressed in the furnace, heated to the prescribed temp., ejected and carried to the rolling line 3. Then, the one end face of the steel slab 2 charged into the heating furnace 1 is set so as to position to >= about 30mm within 200mm from the furnace wall face. By this method, the overheat of the end face of the steel slab can be prevented and the plate thickness is easily controlled at the time of rolling and the steel plate product having stable quantity is obtd.
