Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a disc brake rotor having a thermal crack resistance, a vibration suppressing ability and a wear resistance which are excellent, by forming a disc brake from a flake graphite cast steel containing specific weight percents of C, Si, Mn, and Mo, a specific weight percent of Ti as necessary, and the remainder of Fe and impurities and having a pearlite basic structure. CONSTITUTION:A disc brake rotor 1 is formed of flake graphite cast steel containing 3.5 to 4.0wt.% of C, 1.6 to 2.0wt.% of Si, 0.5 to 0.8wt.% of Mn, 0.4 to 1.2wt.% of Mn, 0.05 to 0.10wt.% of Ti as necessary, and remainder of Fe and impurities and having a pearlite basic structure. Accordingly, the disc brake rotor 1 is excellent in thermal crack resistance, vibration suppressing ability and wear resistance. In particular, the following excellent advantages can be obtained: When the rotor is used in such a way that braking during high speed running is repeated several times, no thermal crack occurs while sounding upon braking may be low.
