Summary:PURPOSE:To permit a combined application of an electronic printer, a laser printer, a copying machine, etc., by using a charge generating mechanism composed of an organic photosensitive body which can change an absorption spectral into two absorption spectral conditions, and a photosensitive body member provided with a charge carrying mechanism composed of an appropriate material. CONSTITUTION:The light obtained in such a way that light in a first wavelength band, which has intensity higher than the threshold with respect to the photosensitive body member 15 brought into a first absorption spectral condition 1, is intensity- modulated by an information signal is made incident on the photosensitive body member. After an intermediate condition between the first absorption spectral condition 1 and the second absorption spectral condition 2 is created on the photosensitive body member 15 in response to the information signal, the photosensitive body member is uniformly electrified. Then, its entire surface is irradiated with the light in a wavelength area containing the second absorption spectral 2 in order to form an electrostatic latent image corresponding to the information signal on the photosensitive body member 15. Therefore, electrostatic latent images are formed in plural electrostatic latent image modes on the same photosensitive body member. A transfer member in a laser printer and a copying machine, for example, can serve as a plate in a printer.
