Summary: | PURPOSE:To separate and extract Ti ion in a sulfuric acid soln. contg. Ti and other metal ions as the sulfate complex or chloride complex by adding, if necessary, a specified chloride to the sulfuric acid soln. and then then bringing the soln. into contact with an oxygen-contg. org. solvent. CONSTITUTION:The sulfuric acid soln. contg. Ti ion and the ions of other metals is brought into countercurrent contact with an oxygen-contg. org. solvent selected from a group of esters, alcohols, amides, etc., in multiple stages to separate the Ti ion from other metal ions as the sulfate complex which is extracted and separated into the oxygen-contg. org. solvent. Alternatively, the chemical equivalent of at least one kind selected from a group of Na, Mg, K, Ca, and NH4 to the SO4 ion contained in the sulfuric acid soln. is added to the soln. as the chlorides, and the soln. is brought into countercurrent contact with the oxygen-contg. org. solvent to separate and extract the Ti ion into the org. solvent as the chloride complex. The Ti-contg. org. solvent is brought into contact with water to strip the Ti ion as the aq. soln. which is used as the raw material for Ti. |
