Summary:PURPOSE:To simplify a holding mechanism by constituting a rotary cutter of a spiral blade and a columnar part having the same diameter as said blade and holding said columnar part in a rotatable manner. CONSTITUTION:A shredding means equipped with a rotary cutter 1 having a spiral blade and a fixed cutter 16 held at a definite position so as to be in contact with the blade of said rotary cutter 1 is provided. The rotary cutter 1 consists of the spiral blade and a columnar part 2 having the same diameter as said blade and the columnar part 2 is held in a rotatable manner. One end of the shaft 17 for supporting the fixed cutter 16 in a rotatable manner is held in a rotatable manner in the same way as the rotary cutter 1 and the fixed cutter 16 is pressed to the rotary cutter 1 by an energizing means 170. As a result, a mechanism for holding the rotary cutter becomes simple and the cutter itself can be formed inexpensively.
