Summary:PURPOSE:To manufacture an air filter of light-weight and superior sealing properties by constituting a part of the outer frame from synthetic resin plates inserted into the respective ends in the direction crossing the waving direction of a corrugated air filter. CONSTITUTION:An air filter is provided with an air filter bag 10 and an outer frame 20. The air filter bag 10 is waved in the given direction and respective end surfaces are formed in the zigzag shape. The outer frame 20 is provided with a couple of side plates 21 in contact with respective ends in the waving direction and a couple of synthetic resin plates 22 set across respective side plates 21. Respective ends in the direction crossing with the waving direction of filter bag 10 are inserted into the synthetic resin plate 22, and said respective ends and the synthetic resin plate 22 form the air-tight state. Each synthetic resin plate 22 is constituted of closed-cell low foamed material.
