Summary:PURPOSE:To decrease the expansion of electronic energy by using photoelectrons, which are emitted when laser beams are applied to atoms, for an electron source. CONSTITUTION:Laser beams for electronic ionization are condensed into an electron generating area with a columnar lens 2, and the atoms within atom flux 4 are ionized, and generated photoionized electrons 4-1 shift only along the magnetic force line 6 generated by a pair of magnetic field coils 5. To drift the electrons 4-1 in the direction of a magnetic force line, a weak electric field is applied between an electron drawing-out electrode 7 and an ion collecting electrode 8. These electrodes 7 and 8 servo for the electrodes for magnetic force absorption, too, and the absorbed magnetic force line is connected through a magnetic line path 8. Photoelectrons 4-1 which have drifted to near the electron drawing-out electrode 7 are released from the magnetic force line 6 by being drawn and accelerated by an accelerating electrode 10, and monochromatic energy beams are generated by the accelerating electrode 10. Hereby, the expansion of electron energy at the electron generation source can be decreased.
