PURPOSE:To enhance the sorting accuracy of foreign matter by limiting the supply of foreign matter removal untreated unhulled rice to a recirculation transfer process when winnowed paddy is recycled by a recycle apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A grain dryer having a recirculation transfer apparatus 5 passing the grain stored in a storage chamber 2 through a drying chamber 3 to dry the same and again returning the grain to the storage chamber 2 and a large particle sorting apparatus 24 separating and sorting winnowed paddy and foreign matter larger than the winnowed paddy are provided. A supply apparatus 23 supplying a part of unhulled rice during the transfer process due to the recirculation transfer apparatus 5 to the apparatus 24 and a recycle apparatus 31 recycling the winnowed paddy from the apparatus 24 to the above mentioned transfer process are arranged. The foreign matter removing treatment due to the apparatus 24 is performed so as to be divided at every predetermined supplied unhulled rice amount and, at the time of the recycle of winnowed paddy by the recycle apparatus 31, the supply of foreign matter removal untreated unhulled rice to the recirculation transfer process is limited by the prescribing means of a microcomputer. As a result, foreign matter treated grain and untreated grain are not mixed and the sorting accuracy of foreign matter is enhanced.
