Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the extra cost for covering a device part, etc., by dividedly supplying a voltage for driving a grid and anode to two systems, positive and negative, and specifying the divided voltages. CONSTITUTION:This driving device has a DC-DC/AC converter 1 which generates the driving voltage of a fluorescent display tube and a driving circuit 2. The driving voltages for the fluorescent display tube of >= 7V and <= 42.5V are generated in the two systems, positive and negative, and the driving voltages of the two systems, positive and negative are supplied to the fluorescent display tube. The driving circuit 2 which can generate the driving voltage sufficient for driving the fluorescent display tube by using the DC voltages of the two systems is provided in this way, by which the cost on the device side necessary for satisfying safety codes is reduced and the fluorescent display tube is made to emit light and to make display with a sufficient brightness.
