PURPOSE:To display various types of information on a display by providing a means to convert various types of information into video signals and to display them and a start means to display the due information on the display. CONSTITUTION:An operator performs the mutual communication with its partner terminal with use of a control circuit 25 via the aural communication carried out by a voice system circuit 24 after connection while watching a display 22 for video signals via a video system circuit 23 and a screen via a camera 21. Then a character video conversion circuit 11 converts the information into the video signals after receiving the information to be displayed from an ISDN or a terminal. These converted video signals are mixed with the video signals of the image of the partner or the image of its own picture by a mixing circuit 12 and displayed on a display 22. If the information to be displayed is received from the ISDN or the terminal only in a voice communication mode, a video part is started by a start circuit 13 to mix the video signal proper to the image of its own picture or the circuit 23 with the character video signal. These mixed signals are displayed on the display 22.
