PURPOSE:To positively convey a material being conveyed between adjacent operating stations constantly in a fixed time by decelerating the conveying speed of the material being conveyed in acceleration-and deceleration travelling regions as its weight increases, and accelerating the conveying speed as the weight of the material being conveyed decreases. CONSTITUTION:A material being conveyed discriminating sensor 27 discriminates a material being conveyed, and inputs its information to a data storage device 28. When respective reaction members 14 are in accelerationor deceleration travelling region, a speed detecting sensor 24 detects the conveying speed and inputs its information to a comparator 26. The comparator 26 compares data selected from the storage device 28 based on signals of the sensor 27 to the conveying speed detected by the sensor 24, and controls voltage applied to respective linear motor coils 10 by a controller 25 so that the difference between the data and the detected conveying speed is zero. Further, the conveying speed of the material being conveyed in a fixed speed travelling region is determined depending on the remaining time except the time required for acceleration and deceleration travellings so that the material being conveyed can be conveyed between adjacent operating stations in a fixed time.
