Summary:PURPOSE:To prepare a coating compsn. which gives a coating film excellent in the resistance to black blotch staining and weathering by mixing a specific coating film-forming resin, a resin having a lower solubility parameter than said coating film-forming resin, a specific crosslinking agent, and a pigment in a specified wt. ratio. CONSTITUTION:A coating compsn. is prepd. by mixing 100 pts.wt. coating film- forming resin (A) selected from the group consisting of a polyester resin having an acid value of 5-15KOHmg/g and a hydroxyl value of 100-130KOHmg/g, an acrylic resin having an acid value of 5-30KOHmg/g, a hydroxyl value of 40-80KOHmg/g, and a number-average MW of 3000-7000, etc.; 5-50 pts.wt. resin (B) which has a solubility parameter lower than that of component A by 0.3-3 and which is selected from an acrylic resin having an acid value of 15-50KOHmg /g, a hydroxyl value of 60-90KOHmg/g, and a number-average MW higher than that of said acrylic resin of component A and of 5000-12000, etc.: 5-45 pts.wt. (based on 95-55 pts.wt. total solids of components A and B crosslinking agent (C) selected from an alkyletherified melamine resin, etc.; and 15-50 pts.wt. pigment (D).
