Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound useful as raw material of medical drug or agricultural chemical, etc., without side reaction and without using expensive raw material by using thiazole carboxylic acids as raw material and reacting with phosphorus pentachloride or phosphorus trichloride. CONSTITUTION:Thiazole carboxylic acids expressed by formula I (R1 is lower alkyl or lower alkyl substituted with halogen or lower alkoxy group; R2 is H, lower alkyl or lower alkyl substituted with halogen or lower alkoxy group) are used as raw material and reacted with phosphorus pentachloride or phosphorus trichloride preferably in a solvent such as benzene or tetrahydrofuran at a temperature between normal temperature and boiling point of the solution to afford a compound expressed by formula II. Adding amount of phosphorus pentachloride or phosphorus trichloride to the raw material is preferably 0.95-1.3mol, especially equal mol to 1mol the raw material.
