PURPOSE:To cut off the corner section of an evaporator from the design of an automobile by providing steps formed with different heights in tubes that constitute an evaporator of lamination type. CONSTITUTION:The tank section 1a of a tube 1 is machined by a male die 7a and female die 8a, and the tank section 1b is machined by a male die 7b and female die 8b. A passage section 1c for the coolant is machined by a roll 10. At this time by machining the tank section 1b of the tube 1 and the tank 1a of the tube 1 which is to be machined in the later work process simultaneously and changing the feed length L of the machining it is possible to manufacture a tube 11 of the height dimension H1 and tube 13 of the height dimension H2 by the same machining equipment. Next, by machining the tank section 1b of the tube 1 by using only the male die 7b and female die 8b and machining the coolant passage section 1c by the roll 10 it is possible to manufacture a tube 12. Further, it is possible to machine the coolant passage section 1c and manufacture a tube 14 by the roll 10.
