PURPOSE:To produce a plated steel sheet excellent in formability and image clarity of coating by forming a circular projecting part in which height and maximum diameter are specified, respectively, on the surface of a plated steel sheet and specifying the spacing between the projecting parts and average roughness in recessed parts, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A circular projecting part 1 in which height (h) and maximum diameter (b) are regulated to 1.0 to 6.0 and 10 to 100mu respectively, is formed on the surface of a plated steel sheet by means of temper rolling, and further, the above circular projecting parts 1 are formed so that, when (a) stands for the spacing between mutual projecting parts 1 and (b) stands for the maximum diameter of the projecting parts 1, b/a is regulated to <=0.6 and also average roughness in recessed parts S is regulated to <=0.8mu. By this method, the plated steel sheet having a surface profile excellent in formability and image clarity of coating can be obtained. This plated steel sheet is useful in the fields of automobiles, household electrical appliances, and building materials.
