PURPOSE:To closely fit a pipe end face protector to a pipe in conformity with the inner diameter thereof even in the case of pipes of different thicknesses whose whole body are expanded and fixed at the part of a joint piece so as to fit the protector by enlarging a support member projecting to the joint part of a cylindrical body. CONSTITUTION:In fitting a pipe end face protector 20 to a pipe 29, a jig is used after fitting the pipe end face protector 20 to the inside of the pipe 29 in advance, the tips of moving pieces 32, 33 are inserted between the support members 25, 26 of the pipe end face protector 20 and are spread horizontally by driving a cylinder and the support members 25, 26 are enlarged horizontally. The joint parts 21, 22 of a cylindrical body 23 are thus slid and moved, the whole body is expanded and the pipe end face protector 20 is fitted into the inside of the pipe 29 in a pressed state.
