Summary:PURPOSE:To analyze and evaluate a frictional state in detail and to obtain a test result with high accuracy and with satisfactory reproducibility by automatizing a friction test. CONSTITUTION:A test piece P is attached to a main axis 11, inserted and held by a holding member 17, and immersed into lubricating oil in a container 19. When a pulse motor 22 is operated and a load axis 23 is rotated, a load arm 15 is pushed gradually in the closing direction, the holding member 17 is also closed, and the test piece P is tightened up gradually by a V-block 17a. When a load reaches some value, a stop signal is sent from a load gauge 24, and the pulse motor 22 stops for a prescribed time. Thereafter, the test piece P is tightened up at a prescribed load speed again, and when a torque gauge 18 detects a time point when a metallic destruction is generated between the test piece P and the V-block 17a and a seizure is generated, the device is stopped and the test is ended.
