Summary:PURPOSE:To minimize the increase of unburnt portion in combustion gas, the lowering of a denitration rate, the generation of corrosion at the rear flow part of a boiler and the occurrence of variations in draft by controlling the operation of a soot blower when a boiler load is lowered. CONSTITUTION:The title controller is provided with a synthesized condition priority operating device 107 that performs minimum multivalent logical operation on the basis of the input of both signals produced from a foul condition priority operating device 104 and a boiler condition priority operating device 106; a candidate starting place selector 108 that selects higher priority from among signals produced from the synthesized condition priority operating device 107; and a candidate boiler load operating device 109 that allows a soot blower 27 to be actuated on the basis of both a boiler load signal outputted from a boiler load operating device 110 which produces a signal corresponding to a boiler load, and a signal outputted from the candidate starting place selector 108. An actuation signal produced from the main body of a soot blower control section 100 (soot blower starting place decision operating device 108) is inputted into a soot blower actuating device 29, so that the selected soot blower 27 starts its actuation. According to this method, the lowering of a denitration rate, corrosion at the rear flow part of a boiler and the occurrence of variations in draft can be minimized.
