Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a reagent for confirming the accuracy of a wavelength within a wide wavelength range by incorporating potassium bichromate in an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid and perchloric acid within a concn. range making the absorbancy of an obtained reagent at a specific wavelength specific. CONSTITUTION:Sulfuric acid is diluted to form an aqueous sulfuric acid solution while perchloric acid is diluted to prepare an aqueous perchloric acid solution. Potassium bichromate is dissolved in the aqueous solution mixture of sulfuric acid and perchloric acid to prepare a reagent. The concn. of potassium bichromate is adjusted so that the absorbancy of the obtained reagent at 350nm becomes 1.5 - 3. This reagent is enhanced in the stability of an absorption spectrum with the elapse of time by the mutual action of sulfuric acid and perchloric acid. since the concn. of potassium bichromate is relatively high, this reagent can be used in confirmation over a wide wavelength region. By this method, the reagent for evaluating the accuracy of a wavelength capable of confirming the accuracy of a wavelength is obtained.
