Summary:PURPOSE:To facilitate the menu operation by providing an exclusive button for executing the display/erasion of a menu on a coordinate instructing means. CONSTITUTION:When a menu button attached to a coordinate instructing means 14 such as a mouse, etc. is pushed, a menu display instruction is transmitted to a menu display means 22 from a menu button detecting means 24, and a menu display means 22 displays a menu on a display device 5 by using a display managing means 4, and transfers the processing to a hierarchical menu selecting means 23. When the menu button is further pushed, the menu button detecting means 24 sends a menu erasing instruction to a menu erasing means 25. The menu erasing means 25 receives it, and erases the menu on the display device 5 by using the display managing means 4.
