Summary: | PURPOSE:To increase the charge acceptability of a battery allowed to stand after overdischarge by containing a perfluoroalkylsulfonate surface active agent represented by CnF2n+1SO3M in a lead-acid battery. CONSTITUTION:C8F17SO3NH4, C8F17SO3Li, C6F13SO3Na, C8F17SO3X, or C8F17SO3 H having a concentration of 1X10<-5>, 1X10<-4>, 1X10<-5>, 1X10<-2>, or 1wt.% respectively is added to an electrolyte as a surface active agent. By adding the surface active agent, the surface tension between the electrolyte and lead sulfate is decreased, and the charge acceptability of a battery allowed to stand after over-charge is increased. |
