Summary:PURPOSE:To enable storaged food to be held at the high degree of freshness through uniformization of temperature distribution and humidity distribution at the upper and the lower part of a storage chamber by a method wherein upper and lower good heat conduction box is formed such that a width side in a horizontal direction is increased to a value higher than a height in a vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:Cold air heat exchanged by means of a vaporizer 22 is discharged in a cold air passage 8 through a discharge port 19 with the aid of a blower 23. The cold air is circulated through a route shown by an arrow mark, and after an upper good heat conduction box 6 is first cooled by the cold gas, the cold gas flows to a communicating port 29, and a lower good heat conduction box 7 is cooled thereby. The cold gas is returned to the vaporizer 22 again through a suction port 20 by means of a return passage 8B after the passage of it through a lower communication port 28. In which case, there is a tendency for cooled cold air in upper and lower storage chambers 9 and 10 to drop downward due to natural convection. But, since the upper and lower good heat conduction boxes 6 and 7 are formed such that a width size L in a horizontal direction is increased to a value higher than a height H in a vertical direction, compared with a longitudinally long storage chamber, unevenness in humidity at the upper and the lower part of each of the storage chambers 9 and 10 can be reduced, resulting in the possibility to reduce unevenness in humidity at the upper and lower parts of each of the storage chambers 9 and 10.
