Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the throughput by reading out the track data before the reception of a command from a host device and storing the track data in a buffer memory after the head of a rotary storage medium is positioned. CONSTITUTION:When a seek action is over, the comparison is started between the contents of a track counter 20 and a target sector register 21. A flip-flop 23 is set when a target sector is detected and a sector interruption is applied to a host device. At the same time, the detection of an address mark AM is started right after an on-track state. When a first AM is detected, the input of a phase lock loop 12 is switched to a read data pulse from a phase lock loop pulse and pulled into the read data. A flip-flop 26 is set after the fixed time and a 'buffer write' signal is applied to start a writing operation to a buffer memory 16 before a read instruction is received from the host device. Thus the throughput is improved in an information transfer system.
