Summary:PURPOSE:To easily obtain a high-density sintered body at low cost by adding specified amount of a binder made of a thermoplastic polymer as a main component to inorganic powder, compressing and molding this mixture and thereafter heating the molded body to remove the binder and then sintering this molded body. CONSTITUTION:15-50vol.% binder made of a thermoplastic polymer (e.g. low density PE) as a main component is mixed with the residual amount of inorganic powder (e.g. ceramic powder and ferrite powder). Then this mixture is kneaded and pulverized and then compressed and molded at such temp. that the binder is fluidized. The molded body is heated in the atmosphere or the inert atmosphere and the binder is gasified and removed. Thereafter a high-density sintered body is obtained by heating and sintering the molded body. In such a way, the binder made of the thermoplastic polymer as the main component is utilized which is good in fluidity and excellent in wettability to inorganic powder and high in adhesive force and easy to be removed. Therefore the high-density sintered body is produced without the need for a high-temp. hydrostatic pressurizing method, etc.
