PURPOSE:To prevent plants from aging and to maintain freshness in long-term storage by bringing gaseous organic substances released from plants after harvesting into contact with ozone in the presence of a catalyst of zeolite of solid acid and decomposing the substance. CONSTITUTION:Gaseous organic substances such as ethylene, ester and aldehyde occurring during storage and distribution of plants after harvesting are passed through a catalyst layer of zeolite of solid acid and brought into contact with ozone and decomposed into CO2 and H2O. H-Y type (TSZ-320H manufactured by TOSO), H-X type and H-M type zeolite are used as the zeolite of solid acid.
