Summary:PURPOSE:To extend the lifetime of a furnace by providing a ceramic member inside a preheater. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic heater furnace 14 has the constitution wherein electric power is supplied to a metal heater element 2 for preheating for preheating the inside thereof to raise the temperature of a ceramic heater element 6 and then this element 6 is supplied with electric power, thereby further raising inside temperature. As a ceramic member 8, a high density ceramic material is positioned near the element 2 and heat transfer from the element 6 to the metal element 2 is thereby interrupted. According to the aforesaid construction, the fracture of the ceramic member 8 due to an uneven temperature level is prevented even when the inside of the furnace 14 is exposed to ultra-high temperature of 2,000 deg.C or above, thereby extending the lifetime of the furnace 14.
