Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the data reproducing ability by using a data demodulation circuit which demodulates data with a reproduction signal undergone the waveform shaping based on a synchronizing signal and produces an error detecting signal when an error of the reproduction signal is detected and an error detecting/correcting circuit which corrects the error of the demodulated data based on the error detecting signal. CONSTITUTION:A waveform shaping circuit 4 shapes the waveform of the signal reproduced from an optical disk, and a synchronization detecting circuit 5 detects a synchronizing signal SYNC out of the reproduction signal undergone the waveform shaping. A data demodulation circuit 6A demodulates the data G out of the reproduction signal undergone the waveform shaping based on the signal SYNC. In case an error of the reproduction signal is detected, an error detecting signal H is produced. Furthermore an error detecting/correcting circuit 7A corrects the error of the data G which is demodulated based on the signal H. Thus it is possible to detect all error positions and to improve the data reproducing ability.
