Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain a cement having high strength and watertightness and being excellent in suppression of reaction with alkali aggregate by cooling silica vapor generated by heating part of a raw material containing silica to high temperature and incorporating the resultant amorphous silica ultrafine granules into a material obtained by crushing the blend of a clinker and gypsum. CONSTITUTION:When a clinker obtained by crushing and blending a lime with silica, alumina and iron (III) oxide and burning the blend in semi-melt state is subjected to finish crushing with gypsum to produce a product cement, the following method is selected: Part of raw material (e.g. clay) containing silica is subjected to high temperature heating at boiling point of silica or above to generate silica vapor and then cooled to afford amorphous silica ultrafine granules. Then the amorphous silica ultrafine granules is incorporated into the above-mentioned and finish-crushed material. |
