Summary:PURPOSE:To improve appearance and strength and to reduce weight by connecting the peripheral edge engagingly locking part of a disk to the flange part of the peripheral end of a rim to form a disk wheel and forming either rim or disk of a metal material of specific gravity lower than a special specific gravity. CONSTITUTION:On of an annular rim 1 having a flange part on a peripheral end and a disk 2 having an engagingly locking part 21 integrally connected to the flange part 11 on a peripheral edge is formed and worked of a metal material having specific gravity lower than 5 and the other is formed and worked of different metal material therefrom. The flange part 11 and the engaging part 21 of the rim 1 and the disk 2 respectively are joined (a) together by solid phase welding and unified. The outer surface of the unified joined part (b) between the flange part 11 and the engagingly locking part 21 is cut and finished. Since a compound between the metals is not formed in the joined part (a) between the flange part 11 and the engagingly locking part 21 consisting of the different types of metals which are unified by the soil phase welding, the mechanical strength of the joined part (a) can be maintained. A cutting finish can remove oxide and the like formed on the outer surface of the joined part (b) and improve the design characteristic of the outer surface of the joined part (b).
