PURPOSE:To make it possible to check the desired position stably even in a pipe wherein fluid flows by moving a cylindrical checking body having a cord on the stream to the specified position of the pipe, and remotely operating said body to the position in the radial direction by steering the protruding wing bodies. CONSTITUTION:A checking body S is inserted from the upstream side of a pipe 1. The length of a cord 2 is adjusted. The cord is drawn out and the body is moved to a desired position. The checking body S has a cylindrical shape, and four wing bodies 6 are provided. Thus the checking body can be stabilized in a turbulent flow. The protruding amounts of the wings can be individually adjusted by the input and output of fluid, change in configuration of shape memory alloy and the like. Thus, the movement and the steering of the checking body in the direction of the radius, i.e. the protruding direction, can be performed remotely. Therefore, the desired part in the pipe wherein the fluid flows can be checked accurately in the stable state, and the work can be completed efficiently and quickly. The wing body can be controlled in a compact shape at a low cost in comparison with a mechanical type.
