Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain picture quality giving excellent sense of observation by amplifying a film picture read signal from an imaging unit with an amplifier and adjusting automatically the gain of the amplifier with a gain adjustment circuit in response to the density of an original film. CONSTITUTION:An original is read through channels by 5 CCD line sensors 226 in an imaging unit 37 while being divided into 5 parts and the signal is decomposed into R, G, B colors. Then the signals are amplified to a prescribed level by an amplifier circuit 231. A gain adjustment circuit AGC 233 amplifies an output of each sensor up to a level in matching with an input signal range of an A/D converter 235. Thus, prior to reading the original, each sensor reads a white level reference data in advance, the result is digitized and stored in a shading RAM 240. The data is compared with a prescribed reference value and a proper amplification factor is decided. Thus, each gain is set automatically. |
