Summary:PURPOSE:To suppress a spike voltage and to reduce a circuit loss by absorbing through a capacitor the spike voltage generated at the time of commutation of a frequency converter circuit, and by connecting the capacitor with a proper transformer according to the polarity of a transformer output to regenerate the charge of the capacitor on the transformer side. CONSTITUTION:Just before the secondary voltage e2 of a transformer 3 attains zero, a transistor Tr 43 is turned ON and a capacitor C709 is charged with a voltage twice as much as the peak value of a voltage e2 via the Tr 43 and diodes D705, 708. When commutation occurs from Trs 41, 43, the stored energy of a circuit inductance such as the leakage inductance of a transformer 3 is absorbed by C709. Thus, a spike voltage generated in a circuit can be suppressed. Also, when TRrs 701, 704 are turned ON according as a voltage e2 attains a peak value, a discharge route for C709 is formed and the absorbed energy is released to a load.
