Summary:PURPOSE:To effectively bring a voice of a word of foreign origin to voice synthesis without preparing a voice element piece one by one against a character of a special notation by converting the character of the special notation to a notation character which is used usually and daily and bringing it to voice synthesis. CONSTITUTION:For instance, a character-string of 'vaiorin' is given to an input part 1. A character converting part 2 detects a fact that a special notation character of 'va' is contained in its input character-string by testing its character-string, converts 'va' to 'ba' by referring to a character conversion table 4, and as a result, converts the character-string to a character-string of an input character-string 'baiorin'. On the other hand, an accent detecting part 3 refers to an accent dictionary 5 with regard to the character-string 'baiorin' and derives its accent information, and in accordance with the character-string which is brought to character conversion and the accent information, a voice parameter generating part 6 operates, and a composite voice shown by the character-string which is brought to character conversion is generated by a voice synthesizing part 8. In such a way, the synthesizing voice having high naturalness of the input character-string containing a word of foreign origin can be generated simply.
