Summary:PURPOSE:To improve photoionization efficiency and extend light radiation time by providing an ionization area of neutrons in a resonator and employing two total reflection mirrors as resonance mirrors. CONSTITUTION:An ionization area is provided in a laser resonator 7. Ionization is thus performed by means of a laser beam with maximum intensity so that photoionization efficiency is improved. Resonance mirrors 17 and 19 are to be total reflection mirrors since there is no need to discharge a laser beam 20 outside. This results in mere decrease of laser strength due to ionization of neutrons 6. Accordingly, light radiation time is extended by enlarging a laser pulse width.
