PURPOSE:To facilitate the manufacture of the runner by a method wherein the welding connection of a rib plate and a cover plate is preceded in case the opening section of a division surrounded by the crown of the runner and the rib plate arranged on the surface of a band is covered by the cover plate. CONSTITUTION:The runner 1 of hydraulic machine is consisting of the runner 2a, the runner band 2b and a plurality of runner blades 2c arranged between them and a plurality of rib plates 3 are arranged on the surfaces of the crown 2a and the band 2b in the shape of a lattice while the openings of the division surrounded by the rib plates 3 are covered by the cover plates 4. In case of the manufacture of the runner 1, fillet welding is applied at the corner of inside of a connecting part between the cover plate 4, provided with the opening 7 for working, and the rib plate 3 so as to form a curved surface in order to connect the rib plate 3 to the cover plate 4, thereafter, the other end of the rib plate 3 is welded to the crown 2a and the band 2b through the opening 7. Thereafter, a blind lid 8 is welded to the opening 7.
