Summary:PURPOSE:To simplify a driving mechanism and to make an optical system compact by providing a driving means for rotating all of or a part of mirrors, changing the number of reflected times of light which passes an optical system with the rotation of the mirror and adjusting the length of an optical path so that variable magnification may be performed. CONSTITUTION:Enlargement or reduction is designated with the key 200 of a copying machine 40. When a microcomputer 100 receives the designation of enlargement, for example, it allows the mirrors 11a and 11b to rotate at specified angle. In this case, the number of reflected times of the light is seven. When the microcomputer 100 receives the designation, in the case that a standard size is designated, it allows the mirrors 11a and 11d to rotate at specified angle. In this case, the number of reflected times of the light is five. Therefore, the length of the optical path can be easily and rapidly changed and the rotational amount and the direction of the mirrors 11a and 11b are adjusted so that the position of incident light and the position of outputted light may become set ones. Thus, the driving mechanism can be simplified and the optical system can be made compact.
