Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate the unequal beam scanning onto a medium to be scanned by synthesizing the 2nd luminous flux from a 2nd light source which adjust the intensity to the medium to be scanned in accordance with the detected quantity of the unequalness of the actual moving speed and the 1st luminous flux from a 1st light source. CONSTITUTION:A synthesizing means 1c which synthesizes the intensity to the medium 3 to be scanned in accordance with the quantity of the unequalness of the actual moving speed detected by a detecting means 5 and the 1st luminous flux from the 1st light source 1b are provided. The 2nd luminous flux is generated from the 2nd light source 1a in such a manner that the scanning intervals of the 1st luminous flux are maintained constant when the unequalness of the actual speed is detected. The 1st luminous flux and the 2nd luminous flux are then synthesized by the synthesizing means 1c and the intensity of the 1st luminous flux to the medium to be scanned is varied and adjusted so that the 1st luminous flux scans the medium to be scanned. The unequal scanning line pitch arising from the unequal speed of the medium to be scanned is accurately detected and is accurately corrected in this way.
