PURPOSE:To provide a highly safe cosmetic composition having an excellent touch by containing a Hippophae rhamnoides. L oil fatty acid ester prepared by esterifying the Hippophae rhamnoides. L oil fatty acid or a hydrogenated product thereof or by subjecting the Hippophae rhamnoides. L oil to an ester exchange reaction. CONSTITUTION:Hippophae rhamnoides. L oil containing palmitoleic acid in a high concentration but having been compounded with cosmetics in limited amounts because of having a strong orange color and a characteristic odor is hydrolyzed and the prepared Hippophae rhamnoides. L fatty acid or a hydrogenated product thereof is subsequently esterified with a 1-27C straight chain or branched chain saturated or unsaturated alcohol having preferably 1-12 OH groups or the Hippophae rhamnoides. L oil or a hydrogenated product thereof is subjected to a direct ester exchange reaction to form a substantially tasteless and odorless Hippophae rhamnoides. L oil fatty acid ester. At least one kind of the Hippophae rhamnoides. L oil fatty acid ester is compounded with a cosmetic to provide a cosmetic composition to which the Hippophae rhamnoides.
