Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain welding in a deeply penetrated state with high reliability by arranging a contact point material slantingly with one end thereof in contact with a metallic sheet and irradiating a gap formed on the other end thereof with a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:The contact point material 1 is arranged slantingly so that an angle formed between the contact point material 1 made of Ag, etc., and the metallic sheet 2 such as a Cu sheet is made to <=about 30 deg.. The one end 1a side of the contact point material 1 is brought into contact with the metallic sheet 2 and the other end 1b side thereof is opened to form the gap 3. The gap 4 is irradiated with the laser beam 4 from the horizontal direction. The laser beam 4 is confined in the gap 3 while repeating multiple reflection between the contact point material 1 and the metallic sheet 2. As a result, even if the contact point material 1 or the metallic sheet 2 has high reflectivity with respect to the laser beam 4, heat required for welding is applied thereto effectively. Accordingly, welding with deep penetration is obtained.
