PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of trouble upon charging work of grain by a method wherein the title transfer device is provided with a transfer trough, equipped with a transfer screw and having an opening and closing valve at the bottom surface thereof, and an opening and closing sensor, detecting the opening condition of the opening and closing valve. CONSTITUTION:When a storing chamber 1 is filled fully with grain, the switch of a charging amount sensor 5 is pushed by the grain filling the chamber 1 fully and is put ON while a condition that the storing chamber 1 filled fully with the grain is detected by the operation of the switch while a drying machine 6 is stopped automatically in conjunction with the detecting operation. On the other hand, when an opening and closing valve 3 on a transfer trough 4 is left opened upon the charging work of the grain, much amount of the charging grain is dropped through the opening of the transfer trough 4 and the switch of the charging amount sensor 5 is pushed by the falling grain and is put ON whereby a condition that the opening and closing valve 3 is left opened is detected and the drying machine 6 is stopped automatically in conjunction with the detection.
