Summary:PURPOSE:To increase density of high-temperature superconducting ceramic and critical current density by mixing precipitates obtained from respectively uniform solutions of element selected from rare earth element, etc., element selected from alkaline earth element, etc., and copper compound and precipitant and calcining. CONSTITUTION:Respectively uniform solutions of a compound of M, a compound of A and copper compound exhibited in the formula M1AxCuyOz (M is rare earth element selected from Y, La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu, Bi or Tl; A is alkaline earth element selected from Ca, Sr and Ba; x, y=1-4; z=3.5-9.5) are subjected to contact with a precipitant such as aqueous solution of caustic alkali or aqueous ammonia, etc., and respective precipitates are obtained. Then, mixed powder of said precipitates is calcined at 400-950 deg.C.
