Summary:PURPOSE:To remove heat at a small quantity during ordinary operation and at the increased quantity at the time of a loss of force cooling power by disposing auxiliary cooling panels between a reactor pressure vessel nd cooling panels and arbitrarily adjusting the temp. thereof. CONSTITUTION:The auxiliary cooling panels 8 which allow temp. control are installed between the reactor pressure vessel 1 and the cooling panels 2 and the temp. of the auxiliary cooling panels 8 is adjusted arbitrarily. The quantity of the heat removed from the reactor pressure vessel 1 can be adjusted as desired in this way during the ordinary operation. The temp. of the auxiliary cooling panels 8 is lowered down to about the temp. of the cooling panels 2, by which the reactor pressure vessel 1 and a reactor core 4 can be cooled in the event of the loss of the force circulating and cooling power for the reactor. The radiation heat released from the reactor pressure vessel is efficiently absorbed in this way and the temp. rise of the reactor is prevented.
