Summary:PURPOSE:To advantageously obtain the subject compound useful as a raw material of drug or pesticide, etc., with easy control of reaction and without by- product by reacting thiazolecarboxylic acids and phosgene or trichloromethylchloroformate as raw materials. CONSTITUTION:As raw materials, thiazolecarboxylic acids expressed by formula I (R1 is H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkyl substituted by halogen or lower alkoxy; R2 is H, lower alkyl or lower alkyl substituted by halogen or lower alkoxy group) is used to be reacted with phosgene or trichloromethylchloroformate, preferably using 1.0-10.0mol, especially 1.0-5.0mol latter raw material to the compound expressed by formula I in a solvent such as benzene at normal temperature boiling point of the solvent to obtain a compound expressed by formula II. Amount of addition of solvent is 0.5-10l to 1mol compound expressed by formula I.
