Summary: | PURPOSE:To fill a system with a refrigerant in an appropriate amount, by locating a second receiver on the downstream side of a first receiver at least at the time of cooling operation, connecting the second receiver in series with a first receiver at the time of heating operation, and setting the capacity of the second receiver for the refrigerant to be substantially equal to the difference between an appropriate refrigerant quantity necessary for the heating operation and that for the cooling operation. CONSTITUTION:A second receiver 10 is located on the downstream side of a first receiver 9 at the time of a cooling operation. At the time of a heating operation, the first receiver 9 is located on the downstream side of the second receiver 10, and the two receivers are connected in series with each other. The second receiver 10 is designed to have a capacity for the refrigerant equal to the difference between an appropriate refrigerant quantity necessary for a refrigerating cycle 4 at the time of the heating operation and an appropriate refrigerant quantity necessary at the time of the cooling operation. The refrigerant is filled into this system until defoaming is confirmed through a sight glass 16, whereby the system can be filled up with the refrigerant in the appropriate refrigerant quantity necessary for the refrigerating cycle 4 at the time of the heating operation. |
